My Background and Career

I serve as the president of the local association, whose main objective is to work for the development and integration of our village community. We as local authority cooperate with Rural Housewives Circle, Volunteer Fire Brigade,  village council and municipal authorities of Fredropol. The municipality participates in a project entitled "Post-Accession Rural Support Program", therefore the village receives funds for activities aimed at social integration. Within these activities the Association takes a lot of initiatives, organising meetings, trips, courses and conferences such as: folk picnics and festivals, cooking classes, sewing of national flag and  folk costumes for residents or  50th anniversary of the fire brigade and many others.

Members of the association are involved in many training courses and exchanges of good practice, collaborate with Fund for Civic Initiatives and Rural Development Foundation.

One of the major activities and tasks we have undertaken is the management of all  the activities related to the functioning of the School in Kniażyce. Since January this year, the  municipality delegated running  the Village School to the Association. I, together with Ass. Board, did not want the children driven to other remote schools and undertook the task to enable children (38) to continue their education on site, in a newly renovated and modernised School in our Village.

Another fact worth mentioning is to carry out our Chronicle of  Kniażyce Villages in which are described; village historical overview, geographical location, description of sights and current activities and events since the founding of the Association. In professional life I run my own tailor's workshop, which offers sewing coats made of leather and furs.

Hints & Tips

Lucky Saying: “Whatever you do, do well and see the end.

Suggestions and advice to give to women :

Every action, even on a small scale makes sense and brings positive results and even if there are some mistakes at the same time or errors to be learned from the findings do not give up. "Infallible" is only one who does nothing.

Assets to be developed: education and training, substantive and practical  knowledge, openness and willingness to take advantage of new opportunities

Weaknesses to overcome:  lack of initiative, social isolation, the mismatch between the new realities, passiveness and reluctance to take any action, lack of motivation.
