My Background and Career
After my graduation I worked as a travel agent assistant, but I have quickly recognized that this profession cannot be a "permanent solution" for me. I applied as an assistant at Estee Lauder and launched parallel my Law studies. Through a management consultant I became the offer to be assistant of the Head of Department in the area of Training in the Austrian branch of a US pharmaceutical company. Here I got an insight into the organization of a pharmaceutical company and decided to become active in the field “Regulatory Affairs. Had after the admission tests, which were necessary for that I moved in different pharmaceutical companies until I got a job as a Junior Registration Manager. Then everything happened very quickly. I have been working in this company only 5 months when the manager has been terminated and at this moment I had two options: to take the lead or not :-)
For the profession I work in, I actually brought the "wrong" educational background along. In my area most people are trained in science and I have studied law. My chance was that my superiors did not judge my formal qualifications but have recognized my potential and encouraged me accordingly.
Of course also challenges presented themselves on the way. Both familiar (when my child was less than three years old) and in my partnership (my husband supported my ambitions, but it was still not easy to persuade him to take over "typical women's activities" in the household), as with my former position long hours and frequent travel were connected.

- believe in yourself and in your own abilities!
- do not become easily frustrated by setbacks (especially in the beginning one easily creates self-doubts)
- show willingness to learn
- Keep in mind: you not to have to be a "superwoman", who manages household, children and job “without any problems”. Instead hire some help and let people help and assist you!
