My Background and Career
My background is the Academy of Arts in photography and animation. Of course I grew further in the virtual reality techniques. With my colleagues, I now use the 3D techniques of the gaming world for social items as: health, education and architecture. We are developing a simulation app with cardboard for smart phones, to be able experiencing the effects of epilepsy. It started with a photo session at the World expo in Shanghai in 2010. Now we are developing these images to an app. I work together with hard- and software technical specialists and creative professionals (as myself). Forming these multi disciplinary teams, is very common in Eindhoven, to reach innovations. On a health hackaton (= hack marathon) in Brussels we won the 2nd price.
As an exponent of the- so called- generation X, I also experienced periods of unemployment. On the other hand that leads to more creativity and innovative thinking. As team leader graphic design, I started in 1999 at the regional newspaper of Brabant. Since 2007 I am self-employed. Although it was not been written in my business plan, the reality gave me assignments for design and branding campaigns of industrial companies. During the crisis, these assignments declined, so I refocused on art and game technology, to be able developing innovative products with a social impact. I now rent a space in a business centre. Besides owner of INTERU_PSY I am also co-founder of the Hyper Space Collective. An inspiring network in Eindhoven, which focuses on practising Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. The lines are short, we work on the basis of projects and form quickly multi –disciplinary teams. We bring creativity and technology together in ‘hackatons’. In the exposition HyperSpace, our projects could be seen in the Dutch Design Week.
Know your strengths and weaknesses. Develop curiosity and eagerness to learn. It is a challenge, to love the differences of insights, skills and attitude, when working together in a multi-disciplinary team of technicians, cultural professionals and business people. These differences bring lovely, social committed, new products. As we as INTERU_PSY and the Hyper Space Collective have experienced. In September 2015 we will start a crowd-funding campaign for the INTERU_PSY epilepsy app. With that money, the pre-orders and donations, we will finish our epilepsy-app to be applicable for 400.000.000 people world-wide. You can make a donation. see our site Interu_psy.com.
